Here are a few questions and answers from our President, Mike Stackhouse.

Tell us a bit about SAMSA’s history and focus
We have been in business since 1989 and operating in Michigan since 1994. The focus of SAMSA is to be a full turnkey IT support, service and delivery firm.

How has SAMSA evolved over its course of existence and what are its challenges?
The difference between our IT managed support services and computer service company compared to others is that we are proactive in monitoring our clients’ networks and websites. We continuously keep networks and websites up to date and because this work is done behind the scenes, one of our greatest challenges is identifying the value of proactive monitoring to our clients. But because we act upon what is in the best interest for our clients we are able to demonstrate to them where their money is going. SAMSA has changed its method of promoting by eliminating its sales department and yellow page advertisement. We are now promoting our company by means of Internet marketing and referrals made to businesses by existing clients. So far this change has proven very effective.

What do you see as SAMSA’s strengths?
On a service level one of our greatest strengths is that we provide products and services ranging from traditional software programming and pc’s to new and emerging IT products such as wireless Internet. We realize that each of our clients has unique needs so we do what is best for their specific circumstance. A benefit of working with SAMSA is that it is a Christian owned business and successful communication is obtainable because we are small and structured in such a way that levels of hierarchy aren’t necessary.

What services does SAMSA offer?

Having been in business for a full 20 years, we’ve found ourselves involved in many different facets of information technology through the years. Our original heritage was software development long before the World Wide Web even existed, but we’ve grown into many more areas since those early days. While we’re always open to new IT challenges, we’re finding ourselves focused on:

* Internet Services. We’re involved in all aspects of our clients’ websites, email, and internet based needs. SAMSA provides website hosting, we offer a tremendous spam filtering service, and our personal service provided by US based staff is second to none. We work hard to understand your business so it can represented on the web as well as possible. Our web developers and support staff are very friendly – we just have a great team!

* IT Services and Support. As a mid-size business ourselves, we understand the challenges faced by many small to medium sized businesses in a challenging economy. Organizations large and small must find a way to compete in the worldwide market today, and do so in the most cost effective manner. SAMSA partners with many IT providers such as Microsoft, Dell, Hewlett Packard, and others to make state of the art technology affordable for small businesses. Our Tech Department staff provide proactive support for our clients who can’t afford a full-time IT staff – we’re watching over your shoulder to make sure your servers and network stay operating. We’d much rather be “fire prevention agents” keeping your business running, rather than “smoke jumpers” that are constantly stomping out problems after they’ve happened.

* Custom Programming. Often the need arises for reports, charts, business analysis, or other specific needs for your business that just isn’t available elsewhere – that’s where SAMSA’s group of programmers can help! Whether it’s linking two software products together (e.g. your eCommerce shopping cart to your Quickbooks database), or writing a program to keep track of some element of your business, SAMSA has the resources to write software for you, or to customize software that was previously written for you.

What types of clientele and to what locations does SAMSA serve?
Samsa currently serves 250+ clients mainly in the Midwest and a few throughout other areas of the United States. We serve vertical markets that include legal, local and municipal government, and medical. Our medical market includes those using our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) service. The government is presently beginning to mandate Electronic Medical Records and we are proud to say that we have successful relationships with customers who are using such a service through us. SAMSA is pleased to be experienced with EMR because we are better able to serve those who will be required to have EMR in the near future.

What is SAMSA’s mission?
We measure our success by our clients’ satisfaction. In the rapidly changing high technology world, many companies measure success only in terms of revenue, growth, quarterly earnings, and market share. SAMSA deals in the high technology world of modern information and business management. Short-term growth and closing a business agreement at any cost is NOT what SAMSA is all about. SAMSA is truly concerned about our clients’ business, especially quality and value, and helping and working with our clients. SAMSA is built on founding principles of honesty, fairness, quality, dedication, and results.
